About Au Bord du Lac
Located on the shores of Lake Champlain in the Village of Rouses Point, New York. This stately, English Country, lakefront manor has a large wraparound porch with views of Lake Champlain, the Windmill Point Lighthouse and the Green Mountains of Vermont. We selected the name “Au Bord du Lac”, from a long list of possible names, to represent our French heritage and our location “By the Lake” on beautiful Lake Champlain in this small but quaint border Village.
In 1911, John R. Myers, Esquire, a prominent local businessman and owner of the home, initiated a major renovation. This entailed a new foundation and moving the original square house to the new site. What you see today is the result of this endeavor.
Over the years, besides a private residence, the home has housed Monette's Furniture Store, The Cedar Hedge Nursing Home and an apartment income property.
Au Bord du Lac is an owner occupied Bed and Breakfast, which is set back from the street in a quiet neighborhood. We are within walking distance to our Downtown and local restaurants or if you desire you can cruise the Village on one of our bicycles. Should you arrive by Amtrak, we can arrange to pick you up at the train station.
Accommodations, in the Main House, consist of four (4) bedrooms with private baths and full to partial views of the Lake. In the Carriage House, we have a one (1) bedroom, furnished apartment available for weekly rental.
In order to experience the peacefulness of our Bed and Breakfast our guest rooms do not have televisions. For your viewing enjoyment there is a television in the Living Room. If you need to be connected, WIFI is available.
Hot and cold breakfasts are available. Beverages, (coffee, tea, juice and water) are available throughout the day.
Our Bed and Breakfast can be your venue for intimate weddings, bridal and baby showers, family reunions, holiday socials and business meetings, which have been successful on the grounds.
Room rates are $135 per night, per double occupancy. There is an added charge of $20. per night for each additional guest in the room. Sales and Occupancy Tax is 11%. Rates vary due to season, room and day of the week.
